When Does It Stop Being a Coincidence?
- Buffalo Bills DB Damar Hamlin dodged the Reaper’s scythe last week, thank heavens.
- Old Dominion basketball player Imo Essien collapsed on the court yesterday but was well enough to sit on the bench in the second half.
- Jessica Robb, a CTV newswoman in Edmonton, just had an episode on air but is believed to be ok.
Good morning on this sunny morning in Asti!
It’s a bit nippy but will warm up just enough not to raise natural gas prices.
And it’s been a quiet morning since I took Micah back to school for his first day of the winter semester.
Ah, the peace. Of course, Pam feels a bit sad he’s not around. But not me!
Finally! I can hear myself think.
So, I plan to get a lot of work done… after my morning cup (read: pot) of coffee.
By now, you surely would’ve heard of Damar Hamlin collapsing on the football field after a vicious hit last week.
Hamlin, the Bills, and the NFL have handled the situation magnificently.
The game in which the injury occurred was immediately called off, something the NFL is not known for doing.
The Bills, their fans, and many other concerned supporters filled Hamlin’s toy drive with millions of dollars.
And yesterday, in their first game back, Bills RB and kick returner Nyheim Hines returned the opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown in front of the Bills’ home crowd. Later in the game, Hines returned another 101 yards for a TD, leading the Bills to victory.
Nice work.
Thankfully, Hamlin himself watched the game from his Cincinnati hospital bed, where he is still being monitored.
I’ve stayed away from talking about the vaccines for a long time, but too much has happened lately.
What The Heck Is Going On?
For my view on the whole “vaccine” - their word, not mine - thing, read this: “Why I Copped It on the Jab.” I wrote it on November 30, 2021.
If you don’t fancy clicking, here’s the gist:
I'm going to reiterate my stance on the jabs themselves.
First, I wish they'd stop calling them vaccines. According to Google, a vaccine is:
A substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and provide immunity against one or several diseases, prepared from the causative agent of a disease, its products, or a synthetic substitute, treated to act as an antigen without inducing the disease.
These shots do NOT provide immunity. We know they don't. The scientific community admits as much.
These vaccines do not prohibit you from acquiring the disease. They do not prohibit someone from passing it on to you.
For those who call you anti-vax for not wanting to inject this stuff, remind them definitions matter.
Let me plainly state that I do not believe in any way that I've made myself safer or that the effects of COVID will be somehow lighter for me.
I've already had it, though I can't prove it, thanks to the appalling state of the Philippines' medical establishment.
But I was already laid up for three months, so my natural immune defenses will take it from here.
I also wrote in that same piece:
In fact, it makes me double down on my original thesis that lockdowns weren't just useless; they were detrimental.
The best course of action would have been to lock up retirees and other immunocompromised folks and let the rest of us get on with it.
I still believe every word of what I wrote above. And I think the evidence supports my viewpoint.
Ok, back to Hamlin. Scott Adams chimed in with this tweet:

Here is my reply to Scott Adams in that thread:
No idea. But here's what I think may be interesting. If he's got undiagnosed myocarditis or pericarditis, and that condition was the result of the vaccine, then the NFL is going to have a major problem on its hands. For now, I just hope the kid fully recovers.
Note: Myocarditis is inflammation of the heart muscle. Pericarditis is inflammation of the outer lining of the heart.
And what if young athletes start dropping without a severe blow to the chest?
Yesterday, Old Dominion basketball player Imo Essien collapsed on the court during a home game against Georgia Southern.

Essien wasn’t hit in the chest or anywhere else.
He was just bouncing around, playing good defense.
Luckily, he’s ok and sat on the bench for the remainder of the game.
And what about Canadian news reporter Jessica Robb?
Yesterday, again, she got woozy on her newscast and looked like she fell over as they cut the camera. See for yourself:

Ms. Robb wasn’t doing anything but standing there and talking to her studio anchor, reporting on a story.
Sure, it may be a coincidence, but…
Never Believe Anything Until It’s Officially Denied.
They wheeled Fauci out straightaway.

And that makes me think worry is justified.
Just listen to that 60 Minutes reporter lead Fauci. It’s shit journalism.
We know the mRNA vaccines are okay for older folk (the above-50 crowd).
But they were completely unnecessary in a young population that barely got the sniffles from Covid.
And now we’re seeing side effects we couldn’t see in the trials because of the rush to roll out the vaccines.
The Twitterverse is relentless, perhaps because there’s no serious worry on the other side about vaccine side effects for young people.

Wrap Up
Just stay safe out there. I’m not a medical professional.
But I can recognize patterns. You do what you think is the best for you.
We’re friends whether you’re jabbed or not.
As for me, I can safely say I’ll never take another government-induced needle again in my life.
I’ll take a tin foil hat over a blindfold any day.
Have a great rest of your day.
