There has been so much winning.

Although The Donald has only been in office for a month, I feel like I’ve written a year’s worth of political correspondence. Not only has he been a ubiquitous presence on the world’s television screens, but his chief henchman is doing yeoman’s work on behalf of the American people.

Of course, I’m referring to Elon Musk, whose Asperger’s has been thrown into sixth gear with his ascendence to the top of DOGE, or the Department of Government Efficiency. It took him about five minutes to dispose of his co-head, Vivek Ramaswamy, which should’ve given us a clue as to how he’d get stuck into the task.

That task was to save the USG $2 trillion, which quickly became $1 trillion. But at this pace, I wouldn’t be surprised if he cuts $3 trillion, Congressional conniptions notwithstanding. Elon has eviscerated Deep State’s slush fund, commonly known as USAID, and it’s utterly glorious. The War Party suddenly has rabbit ears for pockets, and no one knows how they’ll finance the next coup. Bill Kristol has a face like John Bolton whenever a peace agreement is signed.

But I’ll get to that later.

First, let’s talk about Elon’s little helpers.

Allegedly, there are five more of them.

One of my best friends has Asperger’s, like Elon does. It’s “on the spectrum,” but not full-blown autism. He was at the top of his class in medical school but got bored. So he became one of the UK’s top computer coders. Then he read Murray Rothbard and decided to get close to the money printer. Then he worked in The City of London and started teaching. “Friggin’ brilliant” doesn’t begin to describe him.

When you get a bunch of them together with a mission, I imagine there’s enough brainpower to burn down a capital… which is what they’re doing.

So, let’s get to their first big accomplishment.

Elon’s crack team of weaponized autists discovered that the U.S. Treasury was sending out payments without checking if those payments were going to enemies, terrorists, or Nancy Pelosi’s trading account.

My friend, I can’t tell you how nauseating this is for an ex-banking operations guy like me. I spent the first four years of my banking career in operations (penance for my partying in college). Every payment, outgoing or incoming, was scrutinized by a trader, his ops guy, the confirmation team, and the settlement (payments) team. To think payments were just flying out the door willy-nilly is unfathomable to anyone who worked in banking. It’s simply something that could only happen in government.

Once confronted by DOGE, the Treasury’s highest-ranking career officer, Harvard-educated David Lebryk, retired after 36 years. “Retired,” in this case, looks a lot like “resigned in protest.”

From CNN:

According to one person familiar with the department, Trump-affiliated employees had previously asked about Treasury’s ability to stop payments. But Lebryk’s pushback was, “We don’t do that,” the person said.

“They seem to want Treasury to be the chokepoint on payments, and that’s unprecedented,” the person added, emphasizing that it is not the bureau’s role to decide which payments to make — it is “just to make the f-ing payments.”

What’s the point of going to Harvard if you’re just going to be a Yes Man your whole life?

Of course, former Obama Treasury Secretary Jack Lew sprang to the department’s defense:

The American people should not have to worry about political interference when it comes to receiving Social Security and other payments the fiscal service makes. And as the world’s reserve currency, it is crucial to maintain confidence around the globe that the US Government will make timely payments on its obligations.

To terrorists? What an imbecile!

More than 1/1,024th upset, Senator Elizabeth Warren provided a statement to CNN that read:

It’s alarming that Elon Musk is attempting to gain access to the Federal Government’s critical payment system, which is responsible for delivering Social Security checks, tax refunds, and Medicare benefits to Americans across the country. It is equally alarming that Musk and the Trump Administration drove out the most senior career official at Treasury as the agency is already taking extraordinary measures to avoid a US default.

If Lizzie Warren is upset, you can rest easy knowing things are going well.

Now, let’s get to USAID.

USAID is D-E-A-D (Almost…)

Before I start, let me give you the world’s greatest journalist and his take on this:

Let’s make one thing clear: the money USAID pissed away on waste, coups, and other forms of imperialism wasn’t counted. It was weighed.

But some of the funnier expenditures were small. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt exposed a few of them today:

If those four line items don’t have Open Society and World Economic Forum fingerprints on them, I don’t know what does. I’d fire any federal employee with any affiliation whatsoever with either of those organizations. As for Congressmen and Senators, I’d primary the heck out of them.

But the large expenditures are downright scary. According to Zero Hedge (bolds mine):

As it turns out, Musk's team gaining access to USAID - the deep state's international slush fund, which notably gave Wuhan Lab collaborator EcoHealth Alliance a $4.67 million grant in 2021, then stonewalled when asked for documents - and handed Ukrainian energy giant Burisma a lucrative contract months after Hunter Biden joined its board, and gave $15 million to organizations linked to George Soros - kicked a massive hornet's nest.

But that’s not all, according to Mike Benz, Executive Director of the Foundation for Freedom Online:

• USAID also paid $20 million to hit piece journalists to dig up dirt on Rudy Giuliani and use that dirt as the basis to impeach Trump in 2019.

• USAID also actively instructed media organizations worldwide to "AGREE POLICIES ON STRATEGIC SILENCE" and collectively censor social media narratives.

• USAID also funded opium production in Afghanistan. Just what we need.

It’s insane. How did Hunter Biden's Ukraine firm land a deal with the USAID program while under a corruption investigation?

Benz also showed how Congressional Airhead AOC is a product of a USAID program.

Former State Department cybersecurity expert Benz cautioned on X:

Important Note: Killing USAID doesn't end USAID. It now gives the State Department a USAID Herpes Infection unless billions in bad grants are ended, permanently, and not respawned by the State Dept inheriting USAID's portfolio.

This is a huge first step, but in a long marathon.

He further added on Steve Bannon’s War Room, “USAID is a mutant baby of the CIA and the State Department.”

Of course, the X-verse is overjoyed at the hatcheting of USAID. But The Donald’s big task is ensuring Congress doesn’t give him the runaround. I’m not so worried about Foggy Bottom, because, as far as I can see, Marco Rubio is doing an excellent job. Hopefully, once his diplomatic tour ends, Rubio will prove to be a skilled administrator.

Wrap Up

Elon and his Merry Rain Men are tearing up the right parts of the USG. I’m cheering for them. It’s hard not to admire what they’re doing at their age.

If AOC, Warren, and Schumer are upset, you know things are going in the right direction.

Besides, The Donald’s tariff threats have already made Canada and Mexico roll over. Panama has already given in. Even Greenland seems to be warming to the idea of an American relationship.

Let’s see if Trump and Musk can keep on keeping on.
